Can anyone name this Middle Eastern dessert?

I had it yesterday and it was really good, but I don't know what it's called. It's made with phyllo dough, and eggs, syrup and I think rose water. The phyllo is scrunched up so there's texture. There are no nuts (it's not baklava). The eggs give it kind of a spongy texture. Any ideas??
