How to apply for a job, when i have not worked in over five years?

I have been a stay at home mom for at least five years now, the problem is i have had to settle for being abused verbally from my partners and even parents when i need financial support for me and my children.14 years ago i got a felony but because of past criminal history mistakes that hinder me from getting good jobs i am qualified to work,because i went to college for two years majoring in human services. this is causing me to have low self esteem and a feeling of hopelessness.
