Bridemaids in a wedding?

My boyfriends sisters are a lot older than him like 30 and 33...hes 21....I know it is common to aks your soon to be family to be in your wedding party especially his sisters but since they are so much older should I still feel like I should ask them.I mean 20 and 30 is a pretty big age gap?
