Lost Boone in Fallout New Vegas?

i lost boone but not at the lucky 38 like most people. i went to the thorn to compete and when i got out boone wasn't there. whenever i fast travel i look at the map only to find his marker in a different place everytime. when i just walk to where he is it always leads me to the underground sewers. when i search them he's not there. Has this happened to anyone else? anyway to fix it?
